Some stories begin with heartbreak—but end in healing.
While driving through the desert one day, Cali, the founder of Rescue Lyfe, spotted something in the road. A small figure. A puppy. She pulled over and rushed to help—but heartbreak struck. The pup had been hit by a car, and it was already too late.
As Cali stood there, shaken and heartbroken, she noticed movement nearby. Just off the road, nestled in a shallow hole in the dirt, were two tiny, terrified puppies—huddled together in fear. They had just lost their sibling. And now, alone in the vast emptiness, they were doing everything they could to survive.
That was the day Rescue Lyfe stepped in.
The puppies were gently scooped up and brought to safety. We named them Lucky and Alli—because even in loss, they had each other. And now, they had us.
With love, vet care, and nurturing foster homes, both pups began to heal. Lucky was adopted first, finding his forever family quickly and settling into a new life filled with joy. Alli went to a loving foster home as well, where she immediately adapted and settled in beautifully. But while interest came in, her forever match didn’t come as quickly.

Then came their moment in the spotlight: Alli and Lucky were featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Their rescue story captured hearts across the country, and adoption inquiries began to pour in.
And that’s when something beautiful happened.

Alli’s foster parents—who had supported her every step of the way—realized they couldn’t imagine life without her. She had quietly become part of their family. She formed a special bond with their dog Slippers, following her everywhere, curling up beside her, mimicking her every move. They napped together, played together, and became inseparable—soulmates in fur.
So, they made it official.
Alli has been adopted—by the very people who helped her find safety, love, and herself.
Today, she’s living her best life. The once-scared pup huddled in a desert hole is now a cherished family member—sleeping in soft beds, showered with affection, and surrounded by love.
And when the sun sets and Alli curls up next to Slippers each night, it's as if she knows: she made it. She’s not lost anymore. She's not waiting to be chosen. She was chosen. And now, she’s exactly where she was always meant to be.
At Rescue Lyfe, these are the stories that fuel us. Because sometimes, rescue isn’t just about saving a life—it’s about discovering where that life was always meant to belong.
You captured hearts across the country—but you were always meant to be theirs. Shine on, Alli. Your forever has begun.
All our love,
~ The Rescue Lyfe Team
